5.3 oz, 94/6 polyester/spandex, 4-way stretch, Stay-Dri moisture management, sizes XS through 3XL
The RA7500Q Vertex is part of Richardson's performance apparel line, built for warm-up, training, and post-workout wear. The 5.3-ounce 94/6 polyester/spandex blend delivers 4-way stretch and Stay-Dri moisture management, the brand's wicking technology that pulls perspiration off the skin so the garment doesn't get heavy or clingy during activity.
Construction follows athletic apparel norms. Flatlock stitching reduces seam bulk and the chafing that can come with raised stitch lines during repetitive motion. The zipper guard with chin protector covers the top of the zipper at the neckline, a standard feature on performance pullovers that prevents skin contact with the zipper teeth and pull tab. The silicone Richardson logo on the left sleeve identifies the line without interfering with team graphics on the chest.
For the matching hoodie option in the same Charge performance line, see the Richardson Charge Performance Fleece Long Sleeve Hoodie RA7200LSH. To complete the warm-up kit, the Richardson Barrage Hooded Wind Jacket RA7400FZH layers over the top. Comparing across brands? The Sport-Tek ST357 PosiCharge Competitor 1/4-Zip Pullover is another polyester performance pullover.
What does Stay-Dri moisture management actually do?
Stay-Dri is Richardson's branded moisture-wicking finish, which functions like other wicking treatments by pulling sweat from the skin to the outer surface of the fabric where it can evaporate faster. Wicking finishes are most noticeable during sustained activity, when a non-wicking fabric would otherwise hold onto sweat and feel damp.
What's the trade-off when screen printing on high-polyester fabric like this?
The main concern is dye migration, where heat-sensitive polyester dyes can sublimate during the curing process and bleed into the printed ink. Plastisol inks typically cure at 320°F to 330°F, but polyester dyes can begin to sublimate at temperatures around 265°F. Most printers handle this with low-cure inks, dye-blocker bases, or polyester-specific white inks. Heat transfer and embroidery avoid the issue entirely.
How does the 4-way stretch hold up after washing?
The 6% spandex content provides the stretch. As with any spandex blend, the stretch and recovery hold up best when washed cold and tumble dried on low. High dryer heat is the main thing that breaks down spandex over time.
Can the Richardson silicone logo be removed for custom branding?
The logo is permanently bonded to the sleeve. For programs that need a fully unbranded option, contact us about Richardson's blank athletic options without logos.
