Airlume is Bella+Canvas's branded cotton fiber, an upgraded combed and ring-spun cotton that has been specifically selected and processed to remove more impurities and short fibers than standard combed cotton. The result is a smoother, softer fabric surface and a more consistent print substrate. It is one of the features that separates Bella+Canvas from budget cotton blanks.
Why do different colors use different fabric blends?
Different dye categories require different fabric compositions to achieve consistent color saturation. Cotton alone cannot achieve neon brightness or heathered textures, so Bella+Canvas adjusts the cotton/poly ratio for each color category. The 3480 uses 100% cotton on most solids, varied CVC blends on heathers, a triblend with rayon for the triblend colorways, and a 52/48 blend specifically for neons.
