Frost and Rain and Snow, oh my! Wholesale Warmth for the Winter!

November 04, 2024 4 min read

Hey Bulkthreads family,

It's that time of year again. We just passed daylight savings time, so the nights are getting darker and colder and your favorite big box store has Christmas decorations for sale and your favorite radio station is already rocking Bing Crosby and old holiday favorites.

Welcome to fall! And winter, if you're in states like Minnesota or the Dakotas.

That means it's time for your favorite bulk apparel purveyor of all things wholesale to help you prepare for sweater weather. And in typical bulkthreads fashion, we'll do our best to offer you unbeatable pricing and unbeatable customer service--it's the foundation we've built our business on!

Heavy Duty Fleeces: Warmth and Fashion

For a lot of us, a good hoodie or fleece is about warmth and comfort. Like a favorite pair of jeans or those Christmas pajamas Mom bought us last year, we put on a good ol-fashioned hoodie because it feels right--it's gives us the familiar feeling of wrapping ourselves in a blanket.

If you're searching for a classic sweatshirt or hoodie, you've come to the right place. Allow us to share some of our favorites:

Simply put, the F280 from Sport Tek is about as heavy a sweatshirt gets, so you'll be as warm and comfy as any sweatshirt allows.

F280 Crewneck Sweatshirt from Sportek
12-ounce, cross-grain 80/20 ring spun combed cotton/poly fleece
100% ring spun combed cotton face
2x2 rib knit crewneck
Twill-taped neck
2x2 rib knit cuffs, hem and side gussets with spandex

  • The DT6600, a heavyweight hoodie, for those who want the hooded look. The DT6600 is large and in charge, and ready to prove its duarabilty. And since it qualifies for our super high discounts, you won't have to spend a fortune either. This is the sort of hoodie you buy in stores for $60+ dollars. Try it--we promise you'll be impressed!

DTG-friendly
Jersey-lined hood
Dyed-to-match drawcords and twill back neck tape

Light Fleeces for Layering

Sometimes you don't need a heavyweight fleece for warmth, but a lightweight fleece for layering and fashion. More and more of us like to wear a hoodie under a suit jacket or blazer, for example. Like this. If you're riding the hoodie + blazer trend, you probably want to stay away from anything over 5 oz, if possible.

  • The ST406, lightweight layering at it's best!
Lightweight Sport Tek Hoodie

4.4-ounce, 75/13/12 poly/cotton/rayon jersey with PosiCharge technology
Removable tag for comfort and relabeling
3-panel self-fabric hood and drawstrings

Good for Rain

Now a few of you live in places like Seattle, where it rains and rains and rainsand . . . you get the point. We love the rain, but we don't love being caught in the rain in 100% ringspun cotton without an umbrella. This is where 100% poly shells come in!

  •  The L407: An Essential Weatherproofer for Ladies

100% polyester shell bonded to a waterproof laminate film with DWR finish
8,000MM fabric waterproof rating
5,000G/M² fabric breathability rating

100% Taslan nylon shell
4.7-ounce, 100% microfleece body lining
100% polyester sleeve lining for easy on/off
3000MM fabric waterproof rating

Good for Work:

One group of folks that always amazes us--road crews. And farmers, construction workers, first responders, and anyone who works outside when the rest of us are sipping coffee next to a fire. You folks who brave the outdoors in the winter so the rest of us have food to eat, home to sleep in, and roads to drive on deserve way more money than you're getting paid. Sincerely.

Anyone who's worked in harsh winter conditions knows that life can be tough when you're cold. Here are some of our suggestions for those of you who need sturdy gear.

  • Fleece with the added warmth of thermal protection: the Cornerstone CS620. The CS620 is a thick, hooded, heavy-blend fleece (the blend is 6-/40 cotton poly), so it doesn't have an outer, waterproof shell and we wouldn't recommend it to a road crew facing heavy rains. But it does have an incredibly warm, thermal lining that should help you withstand dry winter weather down to 32 degrees.

  • Fully waterproof and full warmth: the CSJ502. This one's for road crews or construction folks in places like Seattle and Fargo. It's ANSI 107 Class 3 certification means it adheres to the highest standards for high-visibility workwear, and it's 100% poly outer shell with a 5000MM rating will keep you dry even in harsh rain. Note: all Cornerstone products quality for our super high discounts!

Economical Favorites

And of course, we can't forget our economical favorites--those hoodies and fleeces that always get the job done because they're priced right, like the G185 from Gildan hoodies. For an economical but still amazing fleece, try the PC78!

  • The G185: Economical Comfort
